The household spend information is provided for a wide range of product and service categories.
The information is used extensively by retailers to determined where they should direct their advertising and % of the market they are capturing. Retailers are now able to direct their advertising to households that have a high spend on their particular products. They are also able to determine the share-of-wallet they are capturing by comparing actual sales against total spend in each trade area.
A list of available product categories is shown below which has been derived from the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) range of survey Microdata and is available at a Census District or Postcode level.
